Reading Remedy for Pre-K Students

During this time of COVID-19, many students are struggling to advance their education as they are not physically present in school. For many younger students this can translate into delays in early literacy skills crucial to success in later schooling. To remedy this issue, Helping Hands in tandem with our partner school PEACE Academy have created resource to help students learn to read virtually. To aid in continuing students' literacy progress, Helping Hands volunteers have worked to create videos of themselves reading children’s books. These guided reading videos were shared with families at the PEACE Academy community and are available upon request. The feedback we have received was tremendous, and we are working to add even more books to this list.
